I think this is what your talking about.   http://allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=10423&hilit=hand+cranked+siren

Bingo!
If someone can get permission from that F4U-1_Corsair fellow, these would all be great. His last activity on AAS  is from last week, so I guess he is still around. I could send him a pm over there myself, if you guys want. But I don't want to step on anyones toes.

Heaps of sound samples at Sound Dogs, try searching for airfield, machine shop, ww2, aircraft, jeep etc etc

This mod seems to have a conflict with the Zuti MDS stationary.ini

You have to add to the stationary.ini, not overwright.

I bet industrial sounds would be really cool for factories. Like hammers, machine tools and the like.

Yup, working on a patch. It's tough because it seems to work for me but not other people, so I'm having trouble replicating the problem. I'll get to the bottom of it though...

I thought that maybe taking my sounds out of main games samples/music/takeoff folder would cure the problem but,it didn't seem to make any difference.Still got the same sound no matter which box I laid down.

Still having problems.  :(
Airfield 01 till 05 work now but not the Artillery, Coastal and Jungle sounds.

EDIT: I tested all the sounds on my Stalingrad Winter map and not every works, but then I tried it out on a few other maps (summer and winter versions) and everything is okay now.
I really don't know why it doesn't work on Winter Stalingrad, I tested every sound three times but no succes. Really weird.
But on the other hand why should I want to have Jungle sounds in Winter Stalingrad? Unless there is a Zoo or a petshop around the corner...
  ;D

The coastal sound is really cool when ready for take off on a carrier.

This little mod opens a lot of perspective like the sounds of a muezzin on top of a mosque's minaret calling the chants Allah Akhbar Ins'allah or whatever they say. Nice for Redko's Desert maps.  ;)
Or the galloping and whinnying sounds of horses combined with explosions for a WWI battle field scenario?

Now to find a way to "attach" the siren to a moving object.

I tried several sound objects on a map & it hit my frame rate badly on a fairly old computer. Suggest trying to make sound only activayte when a plane is nearby.

Are you guys sure you aint overlapping the sounds, I found out airfield 1 is like louder than the rest, try skirting them out further.....

yeah, i would suggest guys start experimenting themselves from this point.
the real leg-work has been done, and i would hate to see it start turning into each guy posting for a specific sound, or whatever.
all has been explained, so it should be a cinch to change sounds out for something you prefer, etc....that's the nice thing about a mod like this. it makes it easy for us to mod it even further, fine-tuning it to our personal liking....
sound issues, as well, will from here on most likely be due to your rig's sound setup, so experimenting first before asking for CY6's help, is the way to go, gents....oh, and apparently there are ladies among us now, as well....so, ladies, too.... ;D 8)
of course, if you make something of your own which you think is particularly cool, and feel like sharing, that will be appreciated, too.... ;D ;)
