I bet he did not like the visit with the capt. and the LSO officers and he failed to catch the 3rd wire. Plus most likely they made him wear a paper bag over his head. Typical Navy jocks. Nice flick

I think he actually did it on purpose to show the maneuverability of the jet fighter.
Those things can do some incredible maneuvers.
