I see you have gone nuts with autopop.

Aha ... we only used one or 2 small pops on field textures ... but otherwise all villages and towns are hand-made and placed ... good ol' copy/paste work ... we have a few dozen different basic village templates, several camps, forts and such and used them maybe 4 or 5 times on the map, keeping them spaced far apart and also 'assembling' and 're-assembling' them so that they look different ...

Agracier, what time is it in general for your pics, you have nice lights of falling sun on the bildings.

The set above were at 17h with hazy/poor weather ... declination is at 28 degrees, month = 7, so that effects the sun azimuth a bit ... being a desert map, even with hazy/poor weather, you don't seem to get as much clouds as with non-desert maps.

On this map, I've taken screenshots between 16h and 18h and also in the morning, up till around 10h.

It's nice to see how the time of day effects the landscape coloring and appearance.

At the moment I'm working on several quick missions for this map.
Besides dogfighting or shooting bombers there is the option for strafing car columns, preventing enemy planes to attack ship convoys and landing crafts approaching the coastline, tank battles, ground battles, destroying oil support, etc.

A few screenies of my work in progress:

A few screenshots - mainland Africa is done populating. Redid the texture choice on some slots and added some extra textures. These are a few shots to show mountains and ridges ...

All this is looking better and better. It's going to be great map...you will have to update all your previous maps Agracier. It makes hours and hours of work ;) . People who don't make maps can't understand this = there is sometimes more fun in doing this than playing the game  :).

We're getting into the home stretch now and are still aiming for a finished map by Christmas/New Year. Started populating the Canary islands for which Ufflakke has made some nice atmospheric fincas ... the city in the screenshots is Accercife, main harbor and site of airfield ...
