Bf-109 E Nachtjaeger
« on: November 19, 2010, 12:00:09 PM »

I'd really like to see a Night Fighter skin for the Bf109 E 4/7 .

They were just coloured in an overall dark gray or even black.

The reason why I'd love to fly with them is because my grandpa flew them over the Channel
He also flew the ju-88.
I know with the stock templates this is very easy to do but i just dont know how to make a good skin ;)

Nightfighter skins for all marks of the Bf109 already exist.

Search skin sites like Mission4Today or Flightsimfiles.com and you'll find more Bf-109 skins than you can use in a lifetime.

Hi PhazE,
besides the excellent tip by Pursuivant, I'm working on some skins for early Bf-109 series.
Can you please post some more links/pictures? I'll try to create a couple from those images.
Let me know if you want some more specific squadrons and so on... as long as you can provide a picture, I can try to post some skins (I usually post them on Mission4Today.

Another good source for skins, which is much easier to navigate than the sites I mentioned is:

  http://www.asisbiz.com/il2.html

Be warned, however, that not all planes listed have skins and not all of the links work.

You might find exactly what you're looking for here:

  http://www.asisbiz.com/Nachtjager.html

or here:

  http://www.asisbiz.com/il2/Bf-109E/Bf-109E-NJG1.3-%28G9+JV%29.html

If you want to recreate a specific aircraft, it's very easy to alter a well done "generic" (no markings) skin in the graphics or photo editing program of your choice. For example, using this file as a base:

   http://www.asisbiz.com/il2/Bf-109E/Bf-109E-NJG1.3-%28G9+JV%29/pages/IM-Bf-109E4-3.NJG1-%28G9+JV%29-Germany-1940-NM.html

It wouldn't be that hard to add squadron, plane and national markings as you see fit. Just be sure to give proper credit to the original artists and template designers if you make the skin public rather than keeping it for private use.

There are more lots more resources for skinning planes here:
