OK, I just installed a backup, I guess my particular install doesn't like certain things - for instance if I remove the PALMission Combo mod I get a crash. Go figure.

Sani, as someone else noted in the post about the 4.09 version of this mod, i was getting melted Spitfire engines (happened with 5b over the desert).

I took a look at you mod and i made some changes, would you mind if i post it?
Basically, instead of regoulating the throttle by the oil temperature i made the AI cut the throttle by the time the engine is in overheat status. Also, when the engine start to overheat, the radiator control logic is overridden and the AI entirely open radiators.
I made a quick mission placing Spitfires 5b in escort over the desert and they run fine.

The changes that you made, is it to all aircraft or just the Spits?
Will it be good to go in the 4.09 version as well?

Changes are for all aircrafts.
The 4.09m would require its version, in this version i also cutted out the supercharger gears management as it's native in 4.10m, also i don't know what is changed in the class involved from 4.09m to 4.10m.

No problem Burn,post it :)...and AI was using it's radiators (same as Auto radiator for player)...

Please, test it, i'm not sure of how much it affects AI top speed, ability to stay in formation an so on, i flew with it some times and it was ok, but i could not check all planes.

As per the radiators, now the logic is:
engine in normal status: standard control logic (same as auto)
engine in overheat status: istantly open radiators fully

I don't know if changes much, looking at the code it seems that the standard logic in certain condition, even if the engine is overheating, takes some time to open radiators entirely (bu i may be wrong).

Porting to 4.09 it's a 5 min work, but unless it's somewhat more tested i prefer to keep only 4.10 version, to avoid updating two mods instead of one.

Tested this a bit ( burns rework) with spits (most types) on Redko Sands repaint, think this is hottest map! 40c

happy to report no engine probs yet! all seems good,  had some long 32vs 32 all variant spit vs Japanese AI furballs in some pacific maps, also no probs yet :D

I'm still working on it a bit, i would like to allow the AI to stress the engine for some time before cutting the throttle, this would improve the ability to rejoin and keep formation, aspecially when AI are tasked for an escort.
