I'm still working on it a bit, i would like to allow the AI to stress the engine for some time before cutting the throttle, this would improve the ability to rejoin and keep formation, aspecially when AI are tasked for an escort.

Or possibly tie this with AI skill level?...so that rookie might burn out the engine...

It would lead to potential problems of too many aircraft losses before combat, imo, so i suggest to let it out.

Yes, can be done, but i'm afraid AI with low skill will end to always melt the engine.

I made an updated version, allowing the AI to overheat the engine without taking any action for 15% the time the engine allow to be in overheat status. Then they gradually cut the throttle to a minimum of 60% (is 50% in the current released version). In this way they are somewhat more similar to player in capabilities. I'm still testing it, but so far is working well.

Any news? I assume that more important and more problematic 'mods' are sidelining this working ok-ish mod?

Unfortunately i have been very busy lately, i spent the spare time i had flying with my squad. Anyway, the mod is working ok even in this version: i made some test a while ago on different implementations but without any useful implementation. Eventually i will post the definitive version in another topic.

A lot of Spitfires are affected by this problem with mod enabled...

Same here and with my mates.

Is that with one of the engine mods that require you to pre-flight warm up the engine for a few mins? to ensure engine reliability.

Is that included in the v13 Build 20/08/11?
