Blue to Red
« on: December 30, 2010, 08:46:31 PM »

I hope this is the right page to ask this question. Is there a way to change the colors of the allies to blue and the axis to red in the campaign map while you are flying? By the way thanks for all the awesome work on this site to make this game so good for all of these years.

Simply I see flying for the USA against Japan as Blue against Red. If there was a way of having an option for switching  back and forth depending on which country you were flying for to have a choice on your personal preference.

In forgotten countrys mod there is an alternative blue USAAF I use that one many times simply because on many QMB missions Blue strike is better than Red Strike or the other way around

I agree that it would be a nice touch if you could choose whether the allies or axis are blue or red, but I've learned to live with it. I think of it as a friendly reminder that the sim started out as a Soviet vs. Axis game.

My guess is that it wouldn't be that hard a mod to make, but modders are like cats - you can't tell them what to do. And, even if you ask nicely and offer bribes, there's no guarantee that they'll do exactly what you want when you want them to do it!

I think that is not what he means. he does not want to switch sides but only displayed colors as I understand.

and for playing the blue US vs. japan you would need a red Japan which there isn't.
so: no mod done so far because of being very special interest.

I asked this same question ages ago, no responses at all.

As for "Why" - pure nostalgia in my case, I was always on the blue side and I still think I am ...

I don't think anyone knows how to change this, it must be hard coded.
