Players cannot ground starts with 4.10 testrunways 5/6

I can get AI to ground spawn & takeoff on 4.10 testrunways 5 & 6, but when I put a Zuti home base on the runway & try to get a player ground spawn, I get only air starts. This happens even when the runway is on the flatest of ground (zoomed in) or on water (which is supposed to be flat. Anyone succeeded in getting player ground starts with 4.10 testrunways 5/6? pr could this be a bug?

It isn't a bug.
When you put the runway on the ground, take a look at the edge of the runway.
If the edge stays underground, because of some elevation, then the spawn points will be underground too.
Thats the reason of the spawn in the air.
But you will see your planes floating up the ground, because all the test runways are modified static carriers.
I prefer the runway 3 because of that. ;)

Thanks for the info but I already know how runways work. The runways are not covered by any ground, they are not in the air, & even when they are placed on water (which is supposed to be exactly flat, I cannot get a player ground spawn.

No responses :(

After extensive testing I conclude that testrunway 4 (which used to offer player ground starts in DF mode) if runway & homebase were carefully positioned, no longer does so in 4.10. I can also confirm that the new testrunways 5 & 6 also do not allow player ground starts when a home base is placed on them, even when these runways are placed on perfectly flat terrain.

So I have to say to TD, what the heck did you do to TR4 and what use are runways now in DF's?

well, by all means, ask them....but this would of course be the wrong site forum to do so... ;)
it's either that, or an issue with the Zuti mod?  in which case, a post at the UP site might be a good idea.... :)

It looks like this issue is a 4.10 bug that is slated for correction with the next 4.101 patch

Edit (17/2/10): This issue is fixed with the 4.101 patch released on 16/2/10.

heya Sal glad you asked that one,
LOL I get my runways to move along the water like a ship, they also go tip up when ahmmered too, quite good fun to try and land on as they point up at the sky , moving runways in water can have base and base start bro ..
but lemme see again as I had to re install the dam lot again , g'luck china
