San Fran Map
« on: January 14, 2011, 03:05:22 PM »

Thought it would be fun to have a Japanese invasion fleet off the coast of SF. I'll need help making a golden gate bridge though.

Still working on San Fran.

does anyone know where i can get some good city textures and how I could make the Golden Gate Bridge.

Good urban textures are almost as rare as hen's teeth unless you want to use photo realistic satellite images as textures for urban environments. Most of the standard game urban textures are awfully outdated.

Unless you can make them yourselves or use GE imagery, then your best bet is to look through the texture files of the newer maps that have been released these last few years.

Can't guarantee that you will find anything appropriate for an American city though ...

Cool place to live in :)
To each their own I suppose. I cant wait to put it in my rear view mirror and never look back.
I could definitely see using an S.F. map for B-29 silver plate practicing.

Lol! I am confused  :D

Is this a WIP or a request for help?

Anyway, I think you'll get better attention in map section were the guru's are  ;)

I'll move you there in a sec.

+1 for the golden gate bridge....

Also I would rather do the entire California-Baja California map (which includes San Fran, of course), it is much more likely a japanese invasion would start south border and then go up ;), because:

1) you face a weaker army
2) you cut the oil supply to the States.
There was a popular Japanese speculative fiction book published in the '30s were a war with the US climaxes in Japan taking San Fransisco by landing at Monterrey California.
