However, the layout of hangers appear to be incorrect (too dense for manoeuvring) - but never mind.

Actually, it's not incorrect. It's based on photos and diagrams from 1940. The original builders of Tangmere didn't have Il-2 gamers in mind when they placed their hangars...

Apologies canonuk, honest.

At first sight the Tangmere hangers appeared to be too close to each other for reasonable taxying and manoeuvers, but I was not too bothered about it. Good to know they're authentic so I'll be able to use them. Obviously, I'm not using any primary sources for my additions to your 'field but just trying to get the right atmosphere at my new 'home'.

Thanks very much for your contributions to this great game.

I have enhanced RAF Tangmere and offer it for you to enjoy. I recommend just taxying and flying in circuit and near areas to appreciate the level of detail. Four static cameras are included (toggle Ctrl-F2).

It is set in superb English countryside mapped by Cannonuk and has the following features:
aircraft and maintenance hangers, buildings, service areas, munitions storage areas, ancillary buildings, accomodations, boiler house, fuel storage, anti-aircraft defences, air-raid shelters, static figures, farms and villages nearby, spinneys and copses, smoke in countryside, some static aircraft parked on apron, some static aircraft in revetments, some static aircraft on dispersal, AI aircraft in circuit, AI aircraft in locality, static vehicles, AI vehicles/motor bikes/bicycles going about their business on and around the airfield, local telephone and power line poles, large power lines running near, perimeter fencing, radar with internal fencing, nearby towns with some details.

In total well over 1700 objects of various types were added to this location.

(EDIT) Note that this was made from the AAA v1.1 Unified Installer and may not work flawlessly for some users.

You may download the zipped .mis and _ru.properties files from here - https://www.mediafire.com/file/jfivowu3wj3g5qk/raf_tangmere.zip

Got it downloaded but cannot save in fmb. Maybe you have some custom objects? I have the latest Ultra pak installed. I can save a mission on the bare cannon map but not the one with your template.

@ teisco - I don't think I can help here, sorry. My IL-2 is 4.06 > 4.07 > 4.08 > 4.09b1m using the AAA v1.1 unified installer. I don't know if any of my Objects differ from UP, HSFX or JSGME updates. If anyone else has similar user problems I will ask in the forum for help.

If the FMB gives you Object error messages maybe you can delete the relevant Objects from the raf_tangmere.mis file using Windows Notebook or similar. Another thought: check whether the map loaded at the beginning of the raf_tangmere.mis file is the same as you have installed ie. check that your map will be loaded by the instruction 'CAN_Channel/CAN_40_load.ini'.

karla, thanks, and please let me just remind people here that we at SAS do not support mods based on the AAA UI version, only SAS/HSFX/UP versions. it is important, if you upload anything based on such an older mod version as AAA UI, that you please make this very clear in the same post as the d/l link, just to avoid confusion. thanks.  ;)

@ SAS_Malone, oops. Got the message. Edited my notes about the download.

I guess I'll download the Ubisoft/SAS/HSFX/UP updates and mods later this year when I see the situation more clearly. In the meantime I'll be very careful what I upload.
