I had a lot of fun with the Komet.  Still take it for a spin once in a while.

I must say I'm surprised this has garnered much attention in the last couple of days

This is an aircraft I have never heard about....very interesting. The Germans were pretty desperate towards the end of WWII and this design proves it! This makes the Me-163 Komet look like an amateur's plane...LOL! Thanks for sharing.

I'm actually surprised it hasn't been done yet.

The Natter? Why not. If we are talking bout it, you have my vote. Every Mod for IL-2 bears fun.
What about making this Factory/hangar as "What if" for a secondary Mod to it? Gives opportunity to not only
start from that antenna-like tower, but also means a good object for opposite bombing raids? Can incorporate a squad start
from the factory and some aircraft could be sabotaged, they explode on start or sth. like that. This last thing I wanted earlier especially for the Komet as some late war element. Sure we would need a Map 'n' objects for both, the tower or that crazy franken-factory.

Hey, that sounds great, too! For me, the tower launch is a must. That's what makes this unique and not just another Me-163 or any of the other rocket planes. Where the tower is placed..well..that could open all kinds of doors. I particularly liked the idea of having a tower mounted on a truck in some scenarios. No matter what...gotta have that tower and vertical launch.

I was flying the Lerche mod with the rocket assist and the "sensation" of vertical launch speed is quite pronounced. The Natter obviously would deliver this in spades, only faster and with a longer burn. Whatever the issues with it historically and so forth, this is just too cool to pass on.

Let me ask a very "noob" question since I'm not, yet, a modder. (I am a 3D animator if I'm on the right track!)

Is the problem with this plane the fact that it DOES launch from a tower? Would that necessitate not only a plane mod but an "object mod" as well?

See? I told you it was gonna sound "nooby" but please bear with me.

From my untrained eye, the Natter SEEMS like it would be a snap, especially after seeing the incredible and detailed mod work I've seen on here. So, I was curious as to why, from the modder perspective if I'm reading it correctly, it seems to be a bit daunting?

It's surprising that none of the modders have checked this thread out, I know they're busy and stuff, but guys, isn't this the coolest thing since, well I don't know..........the 163?

This aircraft is completely possible, including its launching method. But Vladzimsky said, we are really flat out at the moment. Its pity though, a mod for this was in the works and after some useless flame wars between here and a site that shall not be named, the modder packed up and left.

Again I didn't think this request would last very long given the timing and 4.101. Anto thanks for weighing in on it. Having a blessing on it from one of the sites senior members is appreciated and I think makes it harder to dismiss out of hand.
