Hi folks,
the broken aircraft alignment on Ryujo still bothers me. In my opinion, it is not perfect but still a valuable addition to Il2.
The CTO mods from HSFX etc. do work a little to ease the problem (since they use folded wingspan instead of unfolded plane width), but the issue is not with the algorithm for take-off. I guess the mesh is still not properly set for the necessary take-off hook.
Therefore, the Ryujo carrier gets a smaller width (14) than the B5N plane (16). But the B5N is not wider or anyhow bigger than the carrier. Then you do not have to wonder why you cannot take off from it: its "simulated size" in running IL2 is much smaller than the mesh would offer.
Please find the pictures below which illustrate the upper bound for the ship's aft. This marks the end of the place reserved for take-off. It is not much, although there is plenty of space left. Maybe 6 additional B5Ns could be placed there.
For comparison you can take a look at the excellent Hiryu CV designed by
damawo (

Does anyone have some hints how to solve this issue (enlarge the take-off zone)?
I know it should be doable.
