I don't want to be the guy who asks for too much.  So I was just thinking.  How about a Lufbery Circle Object?

Say, a formation of aircraft that is somehow "attached" to the object and has a majority of rookie pilots has a percentage chance of forming a Lufbery Circle when attacked by enemy fighters.

Hmmm, I can't think of how to do that offhand. I can give them maneuvers to perform, but a luftberry circle is a little more complicated, since they'd be covering each other's six the whole time...

I also don't know how to 'attach' specific flights to objects. I can have them select specific aircraft types or classes of aircraft, but not particular flights or particular aircraft, except the player's...

Ok, new update (1.07).

This one adds real airborne radars with historical parameters and working "scan cones" (thanks Slipper!).

Also added: Naxos and Serrate homing objects, Sea Search and Rescue, and a "Dead Zone" object that deletes AI planes you're no longer using - handy for cleaning up after big missions.

CY6.

Wait a minute so AI nightfighters will now actually be able to home in on and destroy enemy bombers with their own radar? That amazing!

No, sorry, I guess I wasn't clear - the AI cannot "use" radar. Not yet anyway. These are for the player only.

When I say real radar I mean they are based on actual WWII radars, with proper range, azimuth, etc...

Will be possibile to change messanges from GCI and AGCI or red GCI and blue GCI
From blue GCI : Target Red bearing .....
from red GCI :  Target Blue bearing ....
the same for SPR and GNR .....
NOw its not bed, when put two object GCi we have info about position friendly and enemy planes playing online.
THX for new object :):) Impresive work :)

PS.OR change color messages from objects red to red, object blue to blue color???

Hello,

I wonder if an altitude could be added to the properties of the Dead Zone object.  That way I don't have to descend my 8th AF bombers when they reach the edge of the map.  If their altitude is within 1000m of the Dead Zone altitude then they simply disappear without descending.  And I can make the 'Pop' noise when they go.  ;)

BTW, I love the name of this object, it reminds me of one of my favorite movies.

Sure, I'll make it work in the horizontal so you can fly right over it at any altitude.

CY6

Another top notch addition mate, i haven't really had time to sample 1.06 due to game freezing problems, but 1.07 looks to be the bees knees, hard for me to see how this can be improved much anymore, some of your ideas are really astonishing.

I may have some more info regards Oboe and such, which i will try and dig out for you. Thanks very much for the mention in your latest mod, it really wasn't necessary mate, but made me dead chuffed anyway. I am glad i have been able to help in any small way, i have enjoyed yours and others mods for years, but unfortunately i am not gifted enough to mod myself.

I will also post a list of books here which i believe give a really great insight into Bomber Command/Nachtjagd operations in WW2 for anyone interested.

thanks again

regards

I have often asked on the Ubi forums for the smoke and fire objects to have a time-out so that they can come on later than mission start. Possible??
