So Im guessing, 109 E7 of JG53 'Pik As' in France either before the end of June or After Sept 1940. (Period inbetween, JG53 had no 'Pik As' symbol, only a red band around the cowling, as a collective punishment from Goering for Major Hans-Jürgen von Cramon-Taubadel, Geschwaderkommodore of JG 53, being found to be married to a Jewish woman! Once Major Günther Freiherr von Maltzahn became Kommodore on Sept 30th, JG53 re-painted their 'Pik As' symbol- and their swastika's which they had removed in protest.)
JG53 were re-equipped with the Bf109F for Barbarossa and the campaign in the east.
