Doesn't the Texas Air National Guard still operate a C-46?

OK, here's a fun coincidence.  I'm a long way from home and I just got to my hotel room after visiting the Lone Star Flight Museum.  I took this pic just a few hours ago...  There it is flying along in the banner pic and I just got done drooling on it.

Just visiting.  I flew down here for work and we had some time to go explore.  I haven't been to the LSFM in about 10 years, (before hurricane Ike gave them a beating).  The place looks great and it's an excellent collection of planes.  Turns out that if you have about $2000 to spare you can fly a P-51 for a half an hour. (I don't have the money and the weather is kind of crappy down here so no-go, but it's fun to dream about it)  :)

Speaking of Texas flight museums, the Cavanaugh is pretty sweet. Their website is here:
http://www.cavanaughflightmuseum.com/

It's the home of Fifi.

Not quite.  :P The F-16 would be able to comfortably stay with a P-47 in flight without worrying about stalling. And technically, I'm pretty sure the F-16's onboard computer wouldn't allow the pilot to stall the plane, it would take over before a critical stall occured, unless he was in override mode.  ;)

Awesome pic though, I love seeing old warbirds flying along side modern jets.

Regards

now, if you look closely at the banner, you can see how i photo-shopped it a bit, to fit the pic size. ;)
