That is a Curtiss SB2C Helldiver, a replacement to the SBD and other naval dive bombers... It was not really good for a dogfight or for speed and maneuverability but it was good for what it was.

It went on to have 880 modifications (yes, 880) before the navy could accept it. It debuted on USS Bunker Hill, but the one on this picture is USS Hornet?    Anyone know the Ship?

It's a Casablanca class escort carrier, not the Hornet.
Which of the c' class carriers is hard to tell. The wing marking of the helldiver ("B64") unfortunately tells nothing, neither does anything else being visible on the photo.
Unless the original photographer took further notes I'm afraid that the ship can't be told precisely.
