Wow! That is a really nice photo. Are there any more where this came from?

Thank you brav6. Great photographs. I wonder how such a wonderful old girl ended up abandoned so far from home. I'm sure there must be a great story there.

It looks really well preserved, probably due to the fact that it lay in the desert...

Nice pictures. ;)

And why did it crash/land there?

Many thanks brav6 for the website link, I love the strange eeriness of such places.

Anyone fancy making a Tarkovsky movie ?  :)

Cheers

Edited! Please do not quote a pics that is only a few post above. Thank you.

This lovely picture of a late SBD reminded me of the fact that the DBW North American AT6 looks FAR too much like an SBD.  This is especially true of the after fuselage and empennage.

THat PBY is fascinating. Amazing story, and shows how dangerous it has always been in the mid east, since Isreal gets blamed for everything. Like Isreali commandos would show up in a PBY. It does look pretty good for a half century there.

And yeah, the DBW T-6 really does look too much like the SBD it is based on. The wings would at least need squaring methinks.

To my best information it was "made" from the SBD. Only a few modification of 3d, slot and FM was done, nothing more.  :D

Cheers,
