To be precise they mixed the tech tree, it's flying 21 23 29 27 25 (unfortunately).
Neverless extremely nice birds each of them.
I recall a report of a (west) german fighter pilot who converted from F-4F Phantom II to the MiG-29 from former east german air force.
Besides the fact that he felt like having swapped from a 40 tons truck to a porsche 911, he was extremely impressed by the dogfight capabilities of the Fulcrum.
They did a set of practice sorties agains U.S. F-15 and F-16 - the U.S. pilots were all but happy by the outcome.
At long/medium distance the Fulcrum couldn't hold against the U.S. jets, however as soon as they entered their infight, the tide suddenly turns.
Since during these practice missions visual identification was mandatory, the two Fulcrums participating the trials scored 64 kills against the U.S. jets which scored plain zero kills, even though the odds went up to 8 (U.S.) vs. 2 (MiGs).
Later during evaluation of the sorties (where the U.S. pilots temporarily left the room for being that pissed) all participants concluded that the combination of the Fulcrum's helmet visor and the superb Vympel R-73/AA-11 Archer missile made the Fulcrum virtually invulnerable at close distance.
