Those are all P-47Ds - even the "razorback" ones.  They are from the 63rd Fighter squadron of the 56th Fighter group - "Zemke's Wolfpack".  They are assembling for take-off at Boxted airfield and it's probably July-Sept 1944 vintage.  UN-B is a P-47-D-25-RE, normally flown by Russ Westfall.

Col. Zemkes 'Wolf Pack' Thunderbolts preparing to go out on a hunt from Boxted. In front serial 42-26466 - P-47D-25-RE 63rd FS, 4thFG - designation 'UN-B' flown by Capt. Russell B Westfall, A/C nick 'Anamosa III'. Tucked in behind and to the right is an earlier aircraft, in all metal finish serial 42-26057 - P-47D-22-RE - designation 'UN-F' flown by Elwood D. Raymond (please note that the same A/C also carried the designation 'UN-W' for some time).

Not that much to say about this aircraft, sorry gents.

Identifying the characteristics of the specific He 111 subversions, my bet goes to this being a He 111H-16:
Heavy cannon in the nose, closed late-style rear section to dorsal gun position and large "paddle" style propellors.
Other sources state it'd be a He 111H-11, but I doubt that since first hand the H-11 was produced in rather small numbers compared to the H-16, and second is that to me it looks like the ventral gunner position carries a forward-facing MG15/MG81 gun, too.

As for the markings, the only thing being obvious is that due to the white "Z" this A/C should belong to a Headquarter battalion.

Best regards - Mike

I saw this photo in World War II Fighters by Jeffery L. Ethell & Robert T. Sand

The caption under the photo reads:

Capt. Jim Duffy greets the 354th Fighter Squadron mascot bulldog "Yank" shortly after landing at Steeple Morden in his Dragon Wagon. According to Bob Kuhnert, the well-bred English canine, whose sire was owned by Winston Churchill, was bought in a dog show in Duxford by Buck Wrightam, Harold Berg and I.C. Myers. Buck decreed he would be the squadron mascot, suggesting all personnel be called "The Bulldogs." Squadron CO Claiborne Kinnard liked the idea, put the existing unit bulldog logo in a circle and placed "The Bulldogs" across the Statue of Liberty in the background, thus creating the definative 354th Squadron patch issued to the troops. "Bulldogs" was painted above the exhaust stacks on many of the unit's P-51s. After the war Myers brought Yank home in his dufflebag. Yank was sedated before the trip to avoid alerting inspectors. They made it safely to Camp Shanks, then home to Seymour, Missouri.

Now that's a great story.

Great Picture today showing women in the service.
I had the honor of meeting a lady here in town that flew
P-51's from the lower 48  to Alaska.
