Any love for the Ju88A's that have been forgotten?

The lack of attention to the Ju-88 series is somewhat strange given all the love lavished on the Bf-109 and FW-190 series, since the Ju-88 was the quintessential German WW2 bomber, and since it would be relatively simple to mod, given the minimal external differences between the different variants.

I think that the main thing discouraging modders is that bombers aren't as glamorous as fighters, and that there are a bloody zillion different Ju-88 variants.

I agree Purs,

Yet as far as I can research, NO Ju88A-4s fought until 1941( I may be off on this but I don't think so - I have a
reputable book with production figures for Ju88 models at home).
From 1940-well into 1942 (perhaps early 43) there were more A-5s than A-4s.
Also, we definitely need (I think we need :-X) an early Ju88 with reduced MG defenses and lighter armour to
represent in the Polish, Norwegian, Low Countries , French, Balkan, BoB, and early Med campaigns.
I love that the A-1 has lesser wingspan and different wing shape and thus should exhibit some interesting FM
                  differences, as well.

And how can anyone who loves ground pounding not want to take an A-13 on a strafing run with 12 MG 18Zwillingss!?

...and I could (as I have no doubt you fear I will!) go on about the other important , and quite different Ju88 models
that at the very least would provide worthy targets for all the allied flyers out there.

I just wanted to bump this to the front of the line for people to ponder - its been over 6 months since I posted it
originally (and I do love to prod Ranwers once in a while in case one of his tribes is taking a breather! :D).

LeOne you are right,

Both A-5s (operational first) and A-4s were operational in Norway up to the end of the war, and I think after too with a few minor countries. What I was trying to say is that the Ju88s we have in game A-4, A-4 Torp , C-6, and Ps(I think someone modded this ??? beastie) are all 1941 and later.
