Any chance for new dgen.exe version?
« on: February 20, 2011, 11:39:29 AM »

first sorry if this theme is off-limits.
I´m offline player and my most favourite are dgen campaigns. We have truly masterpieces from Boelcke,
juri_js,vtrelut and others. But a lot of great new maps and mods can be used only in static campaigns , so where is the future of the offline flying?DCG or new version dgen.exe?

I don't think we will see a new Dgen version, as long as Starshoy doesn't reappear or someone can get the source code of the Dgen.exe file.
For a long time I had hoped we could find a member of the community who is still in contact with Starshoy and who could talk to him about the future of Dgen, but it looks like no one knows how to contact him. :(

Well I suppose it means only DCG is way to get new dynamic campaigns.

The programmer who created dgen - Starshoy - seems to have fallen off the face of the earth. Not even Oleg can find him!

Since he appears to be long gone, there is a good chance that DCG will become the new "official" dynamic campaign generator. It seems that Paul Lowengrin, the creator of DCG, is receptive to the idea.
