The v4.11m patch adds a new "Waypoint Options" feature that allows you to Patrol for a specific length of time and also allows you to set the patrol pattern and distance of the patrol. The patrol patterns are Triangle, Square, Pentagon, Hexagon, and Random. Hopefully this is one of the features that can be incorporated into the next mod pack. 

Other options that are part of the Patrol feature are:

• Cycles: Number of times to go around the entire Patrol setup.
• Timer: How long to Patrol at this waypoint
• Angle: The direction that the Patrol will turn after it reaches the waypoint. (I am not sure if this is an absolute direction or an incremental direction from your current flight path.) 
• Base Size: How large the Patrol area is in Km.
• Alt Diff: This changes the altitude from the beginning of the Patrol to the end of the Patrol. It seems to be for an ascending Patrol only.

You do not need to use every option in the above list for the Patrol feature to work.
