is it possible to make a ''mirror''mod for the carriers.that shows you how high or low you fly.
when approaching the carrier.

or something like a  ''landing signal officer''

This has been asked for several times and I honestly don't know if anyone is working it.

I am willing to supply a simple LSO model for all three PTO nations (USN, RN, IJN) with appropriate animations if somebody will write the LSO code.

Given that the optical landing systems didn't arrive until postwar, I think the human LSO feature is more important...

Hmmm, one thing has been done and can be set up manually , but only for stationary carriers.
place three lights green for good, red for too low, yellow for too high, white for good as well.
set these above deck at your prefered worked out landing approach height. using the F4 key + hold mouse click in FMB to raise lower the lights of your choice. when you are in correct approach you only see single light/s if you seeing red above white/green too low, etc etc. there are different methods for you to work out , but these are only examples of what works and what you can do.Have a play arpound to suite your needs, you'll work it out. Unfortunately, no one has come up with lights we can add on in FMB that will stay place on a moving ship.
hope this helps.

Good idea. It is one of many little details that are missing on the newer carriers (such as steam catapults and angled deck form-up for jets). The issue is this stuff is a little complex, there are few people here familiar with coding ships and there are even less people currently free to work on it.

BUT it is possible, just take some time to do.

This would be simpler than an animated LSO figure, and is equally realistic since this system was used for night landings.

Unfortunately, no one has come up with lights we can add on in FMB that will stay place on a moving ship.

Why make it a light? Instead, make the lights part of an object you can place on the deck of a ship. If necessary, make it an "airplane" which is nothing more than a 1 meter long, 1/2 meter tall and deep box, with very good brakes which are always set. Mission builders can place it so incoming aircraft will miss it unless they're already going to crash (i.e., off to the side of the deck or right next to the island)

sounds like the right direction there too Pursuivant m8, with chocks set also, planes ( or ie little object), are pretty much safe from collisions as it is. a small box shape stationary "plane" with lights on would be as good. hmm I haven't checked yet, but the essex deck light strips work with moving carrier ? I just made a night mission with the essex and light strips to see. home bases and front line flags move with carriers, maybe needs to be attatched to super structure for it to work ?. I wish i had the knoweledge to figure out how stuff like this works.  ::)
