Hi,
I was wondering if someone can tell me what does the 6DoF require and what it actually does?

With 6Dof you can move in the cockpit. You will not only able to be in the original pow, you can move up, down, right, left, forward, backward =D It's an awesome stuff =D

What Dino said;

If I remember correctly there are 2 versions that work with the mouse, and another version for people that have face-track (ie. TrackIR, Freetrack, or others.)

Personally I use the NormalMouse version of 6DOF and cannot live without it, I hate not having the mobility to look past the rear armour plate or canopy bars.

Basically when your in the 3D cockpit when using trackir the views you would get when panning with your hat switch can now be done by just looking where you want to look in real life. Trackir just accelerates the movement so if you want to look out the left window you move your head slightly so you can still see your monitor but in game your view moves much further allowing you to see out the left window. You can even lean forward and back, sideways, up and down etc and it's all transfered in game. Once you use it and have it set up how you want you'll never go back and as we all do, you'll wonder how you ever managed to fly without it to begin with.
