I am looking to do some Japanese aircraft in 3dMax.  KI-51 would be resonably simple with some reshaping and remapping off of the D3A.

Currently working on the E13 Jake. ;)

I previously reported I was having problems dropping the ordnance when a specific target was allocated, it would appear this was a problem due to the +000_New Gattack Profile mod.  I have now installed the latest update of that mod and all is well.

Please accept my sincerest appologies for implying there was something wrong with this aircraft mod.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;)

Is it a good idea to download this plane as-is and start using it in a campaign as A/I plane?

Well, I would recommend it!

I am currently working on a Khalkin-Gol 1939 campaign, using Mixx's WONDERFUL new map of the area, and there I'm using it in many missions as a AI plane. (Below you can see them attacking the Soviet airfield at Buir!) The Ki-30/51 fills a BIG gap in any early war mission, as the JAAF, as you know, then relied quite heavy on light bombers of this type.

Now this is not meant as criticism to Skipper, as I am really happy to have this AI plane, but the the engine on the Ki-30 is too big, but the one labeled Ki-51 is actually a much better likeness to the real thing, so I use that one as my Ki-30! (As you see above.)

And Wingstrut: please, please PLEASE have a go at the Ki-51 Sonia when you have finished your Jake.

Poltava, khalkhin gol was what I was planning to start on too.  Yours will be finished before mine tho!
Mixx has such a great map and this mod (Ki-51 as you said) is made for it.

CzechT! I am doing Khaking-Gol from the Soviet side. It's playtested now: 14 missions, the 2nd Phase of the "Nomonhan Incident", from early June to mid July.

But you have a go and do it from the Japanese side. This great map deserves it. (And then I hope to move on to your Caucasus map  :) )

Yes, they are lovely planes and are a nice variation. 4.10 could certainly use these.

Someone sent me a message that they had a lot of reference material on this plane.  I am sorry I deleted your message and don't recall who contacted me.  Please send me a PM whoever you were.  I need some information regarding the bomb racks and features of this plane.

This is a FM file that will make the planes 4.10 compatible: - meaning, it will fly. Not nescessarily bugfree;)

http://www.gamefront.com/files/20539408/Ki30A_FM

just overwrite the one that comes with the original download!
tested in DBW 1.2
