Skipper, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued modding efforts! However, as a new SAS member I am confused about some things regarding this thread. First, what exactly is a "Franken plane"? Second, are the Ki-51 and Ki-30 actually flyable aircraft or is this DL just for a non-flyable A-I craft? And thirdly,is there a 4.101 link to this DL that is down? If I am not mistaken I believe the very first link in your very first post must be for the 4.101 varieties of these birds, no? I have been trying to DL this link with no luck. There is a later post in this thread( I believe page 4) where Vampire pilot offers a file to (I think) make the 4.09 DL(which I have been able to DL) flyable in 4.101.I have tried this Ki-30 FM but it doesnt seem to work---that is unless I have installed it wrong (which is a strong possibility in my case). My original hope was that these aircrafts are flyable as 4.101 inDBW v1.6.Any information will be greatly appreciated(...and please forgive me if I have overlooked something)...with gratitude!

A Frankenplane, is an aircraft for Il-2 that was modeled by using existing parts of other aircraft. Most aircraft are made by creating 3D models in 3D modeling programs which are then exported into Il-2.

A Frankenplane uses existing parts from any number of already existing planes to create something that looks different. For instance by leaving off the bottom wing of an Avia B-534 and moving the top wing lower to the fuselage, a modeller can create a reasonable looking facsimile of a Dewoitine D-510 for instance.

Or you can add an extra wing to make a biplane out of what used to be a monoplane.

Of course, there is more to it than that. Frankenplanes can look very different by combining bits and parts of any number of existing aircraft.

Thanks, SAS~Skipper for these two planes. I just got them working in DBW 1.6. I will probably include them in a Sakashima campaign I'm working on. They will be part of a Kamikaze attack. If I ever do a China campaign, they'll certainly be there. The same goes for a Philipines campaign. The skins are beautiful.

cheers

Somewhere I got the necessary files to update these planes to 4.10. But I can't remember where. In any case, I also had a hard time figuring out where to put the new FM ... So, to make things easy, here is a link to my install. Just unzip and put  in #DBW  along with the air.ini entries of course. Hope this helps you out.

you probably got it from post #48 (page 5) of this thread. i made a FM for 4.10 compatibility.

all this works for me in DBW1.6, LeOne.

and it is like with any other diffFM FM.... just drop it into the planes folder to replace the original 4.09 one, No magic behind that. I assume you know that LeOne...

Is there any chance that some kind person will correct the bullet stream with the gunsites?
As it is, the Ki-30 shoots high, and to the right, and the Ki-50 shoots low.

This is the way, it's always been, since the 4.09 version.
