A hi to all - WW1 query
« on: April 01, 2011, 07:45:32 AM »

Hi all, mi name is Ranger_star. Recently registered to the forum, but i was an avid anonymous visitor for a couple of years now.

Well, after the introduction I want to ask about the several MOD planes from the Great War that I have seen around in the WIP and Louge. Any of them available to download on Beta form?

Thank you

Best Regards,
Ranger

All of the WW1 planes currently availible I think are just fictional Frankens while the real aircraft are worked on.

So to answer your question, no.

As I heard anyone was busy with Il-2 1956 the last months. So they couldnt work on the WW1 planes.

Hi Ranger,

I can empathise with you it does seem like a very long wait and one with not a few disappointments and broken promises as well. On that long long road towards a time when there will be a great war option mod in this great sim.

I know that I’m not the only one who sometimes doubts if it will ever happen. It sure has been a long time since I saw a piccie of an Alb DIII flying in the sunny Slovakia terrain. Maybe some guys have been steered towards forking out for ROF for their WW1 combat fix so there just isn’t the perceived need or will anymore for a WW1 aspect in this game?

This sad situation has according to my partner one positive aspect and that is according to her, my addiction to this sim has defiantly waned as I just don’t seem to have the fight left in me any more to protest enough to avoid evenings on the couch in front of the TV to share soaps, x factor and the kind of banality that is not good for an il2 combat pilot. But anything for a quite life after a hard days graft.

Its mainly WW1 for me, don’t get me wrong I love the Mods in this great sim but the promise of a good clean hit of WW1 in your face combat was what got me through Christmas and all the stuff with her indoors. I could put up with that coz soon I’d be over the western front giving it large to a Camel or a Pup side slipping into a field no flaps brakes or parachute and an aching face because of a grin a mile wide. But no it was not meant to be….

So now its true I can’t deny it, I’m strung out, I can only just keep it together with the odd mission in a 109 flying the eastern front with my wing man or a couple of campaigns in stangs and spits.
Truth is it’s just maintenance man, harm reduction and the new kerosene mods well they just don’t seem to work like the Castor oil mods would…

She’s wanted me to clean up my hard drive for years, total abstinence she says maybe she’s right? Maybe I got too many hours under my belt. Time to hang up this habit? Sim pilots never die they just fade away… on the couch?

NO NO NO There will be a sunset and a dawn patrol to fly in a Fokker DVII a DR1 an Alb DV and please God, pretty please God a Pfalz DIII
We can’t give up hope Ranger come on guys it will happen! Better the Hun in the sun getting you than the slouch on the couch.

Hang on in there guys… switches off…..sucking in…contact….

That’s it I’m booting up  ahhh…….. The sound of that DB605  inertia clutch clear prop chirrup cheer up cheer up…;)
