We did have Germany's Scientists, how do you think we got to the moon? In my opinion Alexander Lippisch was far underated in Germany, his designs were brilliant and he lead the team of engineers who created some of the Worlds Fastest Aircraft and most pioneering aircraft,:

So yeh Germany had some pretty cool planes going on, too bad we don't even see replicas today, to even see if they would work...
