I was playing the cranken campaign "dance macabre" flying for vichy France in Magadascar and then I was blocked in mission no.9. It was impossible to avoid a very strange 89% crash and needless to say the campaign that I was slowly finishing (It took me more that a month and I was 2 missions away from completing - I wish I had more time for IL-2!) was destroyed.
Three horrible hours passed. The problem was not only that I couldn't fix it, but my XTD file as I discovered later was damaged. So no forgotten countries anymore. So I couldn't even test the missions of the campaign. I had no clue was going on. I haven't passed such a stress for IL-2 for years.
Slowly but steadily, I verified that the problem was in the #DBW folder but not in the usual STD, XTD & MAPMODS folders. Fixing up the forgotten countries was relatively easy just changing the XTD folder with the original one. But it took me almost 3 hours to understand why some missions of the campaign were not loading!
Well...I discovered one of the strangest bugs I ever encountered in IL-2...all of you that you have installed this nice Shordfish Mk.II, try to play some missions where the Mk.I is involved and you'll experience a crash! It took me so long 'cause by the time I started the campaign, I haven't installed the Mk.II version yet so I could have never imagined. It's a pity because the mod is nice. Having a biplane with rockets is an curious combination.

Maybe the Mk.1 and Mk.11 clash because they're sharing the same files?

What Pack do You use ???

I retested it again:  With the latest DBW I have no problems with the combination: Forgotten countries + Swordfish Mk. I + Swordfish Mk II !

Sorry

I use DBW 1.6. Possibly something clashes with it, I have no idea. I installed planes like sea hurricane mkII that are normally not available, possibly a file like that causes the problem, who knows...

Hi Guys,

I have the same issue as Lewicide - duplication of cockpit struts. I had the same issue in the early beta , but I don't recall the correction. Any ideas?
Could i simply move the correct files from the Swordfish Mk I which is fine?
Could someone tell me which ?
Thanks.

I also have problems with this plane.
In DBW 1.71 with Monty27 mod pack when I install Swordfish Mk.II, and when I choose Fairley Fulmar in QMB i have crash to desktop, when I take Swordfish Mk.I game has freezing (In airplane preview in QMB), but Swordfish Mk.II all is fine.

When I removed Swordfish II mod, all goes to normal

Oh because i saw here:  that if you deleted certain files from 4.09 version then you could delete the struts, although you also delete the struts from external view.

Doubled wing strutts in cockpit view cured.

Now You have in all Swordfishs (I and II) the same cockpit view.   ;D

Link to patch on the bottom of the first side of this thread.

Cheers
