I hate this bloody aircraft, you wouldn't believe the number of requests people have pm'ed me with for it! What's so interesting about it? :P
Also, I have a girlfriend. She might get a bit annoyed if she found out i'd been trading Helldivers for loose women.  ;D

Hmmm, because it's the most prolific aircraft from WWII that's not in the game.

Yet we have tons of aircraft that didn't even fly in the war, or in such limited numbers that they made zero impact (the list is long).

They possibly sank the most IJN ships of any aircraft in the war, to include the Yamato. Difficult to represent the PTO without this plane. But, in our Euro-centric world...let's have more 109's and Spits!

Edit: I have religiously checked this site every day for a long time, and AAA before that, with the hope some talented soul would create this bird. I guess time would have been been better spent learning to create one meself.

Hatter is right, is one of the most important planes we still miss. Will add a lot of potential to late war Pacific theatre. About your girlfirend Mikoyan maybe she will be more happy with a romantic dinner and tickets for the theatre? :D

The Helldiver also confirmed it's reputation here in Greece.
Not only because it's not a lovely aircraft ( it's like a big ugly barel), but also because it was used in the civil war.
You had the army on one side with support from UK/US and the rebels that were mainly communists.
So the country actually came out destroyed from WW2 , then it was destroyed further from world powers and their agendas.

That's why it's very hard job getting detailed flight records about their sorties in the civil war, so far I only read some of their missions in an aviation magazine. Quite a few were destroyed even by the air force, it's not a part of history here you can be proud of.
But a shame we will never know all the things that happened. It might had a bad role in history here but it is part of it and it's sad that we will never know all the missions that were conducted with it. :-X

I can't argue with that; it's just it doesn't interest me at all as an aircraft. I've said before, but with the best will in the world, I do this as a hobby and while I do respond to some requests made on here, i'm involved in modding so I can fly aircraft I like. Likewise Hatter, there's nothing to stop you getting into modding - it seems intimidating at first but once you have the hang of it, most things are quite straightforward, so long as you're careful and patient.

What I will suggest is a franken based on the Kingfisher - the fuselage is quite a similar shape by my eye; new engine, tail and wings and you should be laughing.

And not to mention that she served in France well into the 50's.

I wish I had the patience to learn CAD, but I struggle. I can build with plastic (below), metal or wood, though not conceptualize through the PC (this message alone is a challenge).

I don't know, the standard Curtiss wing and tail, like a P-40K but bigger, big barreled fuselage, a pair or 20s, engine and tailhook. The pit from a TBF or F4U.

Nice model making there; that's the sort of standard I aspire to! This is quite a popular aircraft; i'm sure someone will tackle it eventually.

Mikoyan talked about a franken, what about?

Kingfisher fuselage

P40 wings and tail (problem will be the dive brakes)

Hellcat engine with 4 blade prop

if i'm not mistaken, if we can get this vital missing plane into the sim, then the PTO theater will finally be well-represented. ;)
this request goes out to the unknown modder, who wants to write his name into the IL-2 hall of fame :D

Well I was thinking, what are the steps you have to do to get a 3d model in game?
E.g the help threads but in order from what you have to do.
