Don't think so.

Believe the files in UP3 are just placeholders.

Yes, they are placeholders. I recently replaced them with the d/loaded files from this thread, and the FBDSM is truly... FBDSM! 8)

I added all the files from FBDSM to my UP3 game, but most of the Yaks and Laggs seemed to have the original skins from 1946 (ugh!)-, as well as the Me109's have I missed something?

Did you add all relevant lines in your STD/rc file? Remember, donnot install  sbdfm part 6, as it is not compatible with JapanCat's zeros

Ok- thanks for that- I wasnt aware it was a work in progress. Its certainly not that I dont like VVS camo, its just the low quality of the standard skins (panel lines, rivets etc) that I dont like. When you put them up against 3rd party skinners (like the guys that are credited in the FBDSM mod-) then you gotta agree, there is no comparison.

What I have done is added the old skin mod from my UI1.2 install, which has fixed all the Yaks/Laggs/Me109's, although I will have to do something about the Fw190's.

(have you applied the 409m skins patch?)

this is my guess also, you probably dont have that yet. This mod works alongside that patch. We have had not reason to reskin most of the planes in that patch yet, as those skins (109's,190's,Yaks and laggs) are quite nice.

Ah- maybe, CirX........ I just did a vanilla 4.08 install, then the Mega patch up to 4.101, then the UP3_0. Would the mega patch not have installed the 4.09m skin patch?

I think it should have. How big is your fb_3do20.SFS file?

post a screenshot of any of the LaGG or La fighters,  in the default skin that you say is not good, and then we will know for sure if we are talking about the same thing.

It is a bug in UP 3.0 RC that all the skins are revertyed to Summer ones when mission starts. It has been fixed and will be included in Final UP 3.0 release ;)

Will check when I get home CirX, but a for instance is, the Lagg 5 is that kind of shiny brown colour- def stock 4.08 skin. Also- been meaning to ask for ages- how do I post an image? When I click the 'add image' button, I just get [img][img] in the reply box, and no option to 'point' at the folder where the image is.

The img code is for inserting pics from/hosted/uploaded the net. You have to upload (via imageshack/flikr/photobucket etc) or find the pics and put the pics/pages web address between the img tags
