Just a little question:

Did the name of the plane can be changed into the plane_ru?

I'm asking this because I can't change it's name from Fw 190.... to FW 190...

I have tried to change the whole name but it don't change!!!

I think due a different call into the class files that look for a different name!!

Can some mate solve this please!!!

Thanks in advance!!!

I made a greatest donkey error:

I write w instead of W but due the small size of the window I haven't recognized the typing error!!!!

Now all work!!!

Thanks Gerax for your reply and my great apologize for the time you lose for my stupid error!!!

cheers

S!

Great plane and skin. Just noticed a bug though. Opened QMB, took this Dora against a Pony, Slovakia Summer map. Alt 3km and fight was on. Dove after that Pony and lost my wing to over-G I guess, speed 850km/h and crashed to ground. Instead of exploding and pilot dying, the plane jumped back up to air like a superball and I bailed out unscatched. The plane then continued bouncing without losing speed at all across the map. Speeds varied from 300km/h to nearly 2000km/h! :o Tried to save a track of it, but said Track not saved ??? This can be repeated on any map, plane crashes but pilot does not die. The fuselage continues flying and bouncing around.

you may have deselected realistic landings or vulnerbinity (or something:P)  when i first flew  the settings were set on easy, wich caused that the plane couldnt crash and would bounce back up.

the early model was built first, and was followed by the mid one which was built more or less in the middle. And then the late model was built later.

I have a book by Dietmar Hermann which states that most D-9s without MW-50 were upgraded to 1900 HP emergency power from 1750 HP by using higher boost pressure while also extending the allowed usage of 1750 HP at a given time. That should be the D-9 middle that we've got. I'm pretty sure that's what the plane info for the D-9 given by 1C Maddox says. But, personally, I think the middle D-9 we've got is a bit too much of a speed demon at certain altitudes, so I basically ignore it. The IL-2 compare data for that one is kinda crazy. Supposedly it does over 720 KPH at full throttle height. I've never heard of a real D-9 achieving that speed.

...wow...instead I've always thought that aircrafts grow like people, so an "early" one is when it's newly built, and over time it becomes "mid" and "late".  ;)

Do all these new D-9 come set with the bobm rack as the default? I have downloaded 3 diff types and all seem to have bobmrack as standard default, not just when selecting a drop tank or bobmload??

Yes, i think all versions (mine and other) have bombrack as default, that reflect the historical reality.....

For engines...

First batches of D9 were fitted with the 1750 hp version that was the "basic" engine from september/october 1944.. Then, they were fitted with a semi auto additionnal extra boost that gave 1900 hp for take off . This boost was manualy engaged on ground and under something like 2300 m (don't remember the exact altitude, and i may be little bit wrong) and automaticaly beyond this alt in order to spare fuel.

All D9 were retroffited with this extra boost by the end of november or beginning of december, most on field. After that, during december, mw50 began to be fitted and was serialized in very early of 1945. So, here is the explanation of the 3 versions. In fact, early dora with 1750 hp is usable only for october/november 1944 only.
