Uf, I never thanked you for your tutorial, but I have managed to successfully add bumph files to almost all my textures using your instructions. Thahk you VERY much; they do make a big difference.   :D
In some cases it did not work for some reason; I followed the instructions to the letter but the resulting bumpH files were too large (some were 2 mb and some 1026 kb instead of expected 1025 kb  ???), but that only happened to a handful textures, all the others were just fine.   :)

@Panzerkeil,
Good to know that it still is a useful tutorial for other members here.
I completely forgot about this thread. I thought it disappeared in cyberspace after a cleanup or so.  :D

I also 'bumpify' all of my favourite maps. It adds so much to the overall appearance of the landscape.

Sometimes I had trouble with BumpH files and didn't got it working ingame just like you.
Maybe it has to do with some 24-bits/ 32-bits .tga's?
Just guessing though...

Hi Uuff

I just bumpificated myself this morning  :D ( 20 textures )

Now saving correctly as a BUMPH file  ;)

i notice that some use .BumpH, .bumpH and .BUMPH within the name for the saved file.

Is there a specific one or are all ok as long as it comes up as a BUMPH true file after saving.

Tell you what Malone

After bumpifying Angola and Namibia map sure makes a nice change to the textures  ;)

More detail and shadows etc.

Can't wait to bumpify myself again with the remaining textures next weekend.

I don't know if it is case sensitive or not.
I noticed that when starting to create BumpH files the ones that were already included ingame all had the extension .BumpH at the end.
So I took it over and too lazy to sort out if .BUMPH or .bumph could work also.  ;D
And .BumpH looks more interesting then just .bumph    :D

No...the file extension is not case sensitive
same as the extension .tga
it can be .tga or .TGA or .Tga .tGa or whatever
extensions do not have to be case sensative
