New SAS.exe in Hyperlobby

Has anyone got any ideas as to why i cant select the new modact SAS.exe as the path for Hyperlobby..

If i search for it then it cant fine it if i type path manually it cant find it..

any ideas plaese

hyperlobby has to use il2fb.exe

Therefore I suggest renaming the sas.exe to il2fb.exe and renaming il2fb.exe to something like il2fb_old.exe. You do similar things when u host dedicated servers, you rename il2server.exe to il2fb.exe.

if you rename the exe, then it will not pick up the wrapper, and the pc might go into a sort of error loop.

as I dont play online at all, I have no idea about it. It would seem to me fair that people with certain mod setups would only play against each other?

I could always make an add on for those people who want to play online against people without the same setup, but it seems like ...odd , to me.

UP will also have their onw exe, but I gues they will have a dedicated server and different online setup. SAS has always been about offliners, and the route I took with Modact 3 is absolutely the best one for offline players

If online players have problems with it, let me know, and I will see if a solution can be found. If it simply means giving you a different exe and wrapper file that will pick up the #SAS folder, I can do that.

Onliners are weird. They all complain endlessly about cheating, and cripple the game for offliners, yet, never met one who didnt. :D

must the wrapper also have the old name, or just the exe? and, what about the exe is checked? only the name?

If you are interested in testing, email me at sas@whatwalrus.com, and Ill give you a wrapper and exe to test whether you can get to hyperlobby with.

I dont know mate.. i only have mods to improve the visual aspect,, i fly in Warclouds for instance and before now i could fly in there with my old Modded SAS installation. i didnt think it would be any different tbh  :-\

yes your right.. i changed it to il2fb.exe and it didnt work through HL

i can only join server via IP  :-X

CirX. Basically to start the game hyperlobby has to find an il2fb.exe. Only this file means that you have a valid installation of il2 according to hyperlobby. So we can't just point it at a differently named exe file. The wrapper and everything else doesn't matter it's just we need to use a file called il2fb.exe to start or join any game on hyperlobby. Whether CRT=2 checks ur exe files I don't know.

Raptor, if you are willing to do the test, I can send you an exe called "il2fb.exe" that will trigger the #SAS mods folder, and you can see if it works?

However, online players like that who only want to improve the visuals (but then whats to stop others from "improving" everything else, because you already fly with modifed fligtmodels, to name just one thing?) realy should get a seperate barebones modactivator. One that does not even use modified buttons, perhaps just the engine sound references.

It doesnt even have to have any ini files, because you should not add planes to it anyway. Nor any forgotten countries or indeed any such stuff.

I can make such an activator, then you can all "improve" against each other to your heat's content ;D

(sorry Jamz, I do not mean harm, I am just poking fun at the online crowd, who thuroughly deserves it  :P )

Anyways, let me know raptor, if you want to run the experiment.
