Yes,  see your problem. It is one of the drawbacks in putting a large object onto a 1024x1024 skin especially when you think both sides will be the same. I think your solution could be the only way forward atm.

The funny thing is, all the fleet carriers, which are larger, had separate sides for the hull and superstructure. I wonder why these smaller ships didn't go that route?

So, living with the limitation, I'm going to go ahead and do what I figured concerning doing different hulls with alternating Designs.

Wish me luck!!

This mod is fucking amazing. Too bad i suck at even following the read-me. Was unable on both my UP2.01 & SAS Super Duper Mod Activator installs to get this to work. could someone help a sad sack out and upload the .ini's for this? i'd much appreciate it. i can install most anything, but ships always always get the better of me :(

Try a staged approach to the installation.

1. Copy Mods sub-folder into mods, including class files.  ---  check game still runs.

2. Make text entries in chief.ini in two places, and make text entries in ship.ini.
For a mod with a lot of ships like this do the entries for one ship at a time.
This is the install for moving ships only.
--- check the game still runs.

If it runs ok but the new ship does not appear then the error is probably in the ship.ini entry.

3. Once you have one ship working you can add the rest in the same way.

4. To add the stationary ships make the entries in stationary.ini --- check it still runs.

5. To customise the menu names do the entries in technics_ru.properties -- this is optional.

Hello.

Today I downloaded "Full Install" update version.
I see... this rar archive broken or mistaken build.
Inside "Mods", here is to be "USN Fleet Carriers" folder, but not, exist "3do" folder.
And no class files.
It seems to be disable running.

"Add_on" version seems to be well.

Ok folks:

I've changed the link for the Full Install USN Fleet Carriers but I'll repeat it here:

NEW LINK
https://www.mediafire.com/file/79fc2yda2lu24rj/Full_Install%20USNFleetCarriers.rar

I am so very sorry for any hassle I probably put some people through. Thank goodness some of you are knowledgeable enough that you got it up and running.

Aiko-109:

I now see what you meant when you said the class files were "sold separately."

I tip for anyone new to contributing like I am: Clean up your files and DO NOT name files so similarly that they can be confused. That's what happened here. The file I uploaded was for my consumption only and was in the same folder as the one that is now here. I'll be very much more careful in the future.

Again, I apologise for any problem I caused for anyone that couldn't get this to work before. Please, try again with this NEW LINK:

I work for a company with over 100 school buses. Looking at the weathering of these, and keeping in mind there are vehicles spanning a decade, the weathering on them is very similar. The fuel drips, hinge oiling, hub grease, and rust are, except for those who keep their vehicles squeaky clean, all very consistent.

Bob

I LOLed at this. My Wife used to drive a school bus when we were younger, and her bus always stood out on the line, both for it's sparkle but also because it was a real old timer, that was passed down to her from the longest serving driver in the company (It was even a 5 speed stick, the only one in the company). It had been kept immaculately before her and she continued the tradition.

I love the attention to detail you put into this Mod. Keep up the good work!

Hi folks:

I f####d up the other day and need some help. This involves ONLY the old version of the Full Install USN Fleet Carriers mod - the version that was missing the class files in the download. If you've dl'd using the NEW LINK above then you're ok.

Having read a topic by western0221, I dl'd his mod and checked it out. I noticed the speed of the carriers in my Fleet Carriers mod had been reduced to the game default speed of 27.78 //55.56. He said this was what he got from my ship.ini file in the readme from my mod.

So, with this mind, please, everyone who has installed this mod check the second line down in the "// Motion Parameters" section.

If the line looks like this:

Speed          27.78 //55.56

Then copy this line here:

Speed          30.50 //61.00

and paste it in every one of the Essex Class carriers from my mod.

Man, I'm feeling like a real fool right now!! Maybe I'm not cut out for this modding stuff.

Don't worry .. IL2 is a b*stard to work with at times and we all make simple mistakes, but that's life.

However, if it is any consolation, it is also true that those who do the "bitching and moaning and pitching a fit" are always the ones who never actually contribute anything  ;)
