I have done that, as told to in the read me file, Install (into the Chief ini file) the top lines and re-save, then install the lower part into the bottom of the Chief ini then again re-save.  The read me file is really clear for such a large mod...Im off back to work tonight, but will give it another try when im off on rest days again.

Yea, at my ninth attempt it's working, God knows what i was doing wrong I think it was that the ships folder wasn't going into the correct folder in my MODs.  Anyway it's working fine now (touch Wood) Thanks for the advice guys and an even bigger thanks for an outstanding mod. ;D

It took hours of struggle, but it was worth it. Congrats on an awesome piece of work! Sara in blue is the prettiest (and fastest), but she has no cats. So the blue Essex is my pick.

Many thanks!

PS:
I'm using the "SAS Seriously KickAss Modact 3.06 for 4.101" which complicated finding things to modify.
You might mention the Modact file locations in future readme's.

I was wondering if some kind soul would mind posting the whole files that needed to be edited in-order to get this mod to work. I have tried for days and must be messing something up since nothing works. I would be very grateful.

Could someone uplink or post the files that are necessary for this mod to function. I have tried to add the appropriate sections that plowshare posted but must not be using the proper files or am making mistakes with the additional entries. Help a knob for New Years?????

All the links are in the first post of the thread.
Scroll down to find the Full_Install version.

Install one step at a time, testing that the game works at each stage.

Hold your horses, I'm getting there... slowly.   ;D  Had to finish working on Forza 4 first.

Nice to see you back in IL2 projects. ;-)
Your original PF project P-61B but more updated and re-worked you can see later in new HSFX.

Oh well, thanks anyway. I already have obviously done all that. Have worked on this for 3 days with no success.

I'm sorry, but it wasn't obvious that you had done all of that.

I assume you have a working v4.10 fully modded installation.
The following notes assume a "Classic" mod installation -- that is, using a MODS folder.

Download the Full_Install USNFleetCarriers.rar  --- extract to temp folder on desktop.

In the temp folder you will have two folders and a text file.

Copy and paste the MODS folder into your game root folder.
This creates a USN Fleet Carriers folder in your MODS folder.
Check that there is only one and that it is correctly located.
In the USN Fleet Carriers folder confirm you have 16 class files
Test that the game still starts.

Do not install the Carrier Crew v4 folder - yet.

Since you have been having problems you should make the text entries one ship at a time.
To begin with only make entries in chief.ini and ships.ini

Open the text file containing the instructions.
Scroll down to the ships.ini section
Copy the ships.ini text for all of the ships into your ships.ini file  --- you may only have this if you have installed previous mod ships.

Test that the game still starts --- no new ships will appear yet.

Make the first text entries in chief.ini  ---  entries required in two places

Make entries as follows:
Code: [Select]
USSSaratogaCV3_1943_1945 ships.ShipPlow$USSSaratogaCV3_1943_1945  1 icons/shipDestroyer.mat
and

Code: [Select]
[Ships.USSSaratogaCV3_1943_1945]
 com.maddox.il2.objects.ships.ShipPlow$USSSaratogaCV3_1943_1945

Test run the game and check that the new Saratoga 43-45 appears.

If not then look for your logfile.txt and post the contents here.
This should show an error message.
