Question about Map Editing

Hey I was just wondering how to edit Maps created by other people (Mod Maps Downloaded to the Mods Folder in IL-2).
 My friend wants me to Edit a Map he had Created.
Is It Possible?

I am running IL-2 Sturmovik 4.10.1

You could look at KevinP's map making tutorial HERE. You will need a modded install though, you can't edit maps with stock 4.101.
