Sorry to ask what is probably a stupid question, but why do I need to fill in the number recognition box and take the what game do we play test when I wish to post a reply even though I have logged in several times now and I am obviously not spamming.... but not when I came to start this new topic

As the spam attacks on the forum rise and fall, we increase or decrease the security level.
The security checks thus become more or less difficult. They are purely post or PM count based, not login based. So when you have made more than the current required number of posts, you will not need to verify that you are a human again. This number of posts or PMs also rises and falls as required to protect the forum appropriately, anywhere between 1 and 10.

There are a few members here who are like hawks spotting span and they always report it and we can react and pick up trends. And the world of spam realy does run like the tides and fasions, it comes and goes.
