I used substituting for online Ngens, not bad but many problems, campaing data mixed when open more than one, missions with CA navigating in land and/or outside map, also outside map waypoints for flights, IA bombers doing fighters, IA don't responding when atacked... If you open a campaign and use it a lot of missions until open a new one, and if it's in a default map may be it works fine. Also if you hand generate missions without substituting dgen.exe for automated campaings may be fine also. For me more problems than beneficts.

I´ve been using it on and off for a nuber of years and I have to say it´s quite a well developed generator. Also if problems occur Paul is very helpful (among with a number of users) in solving issues. I´d recmmend you installing it and try it out, you´ll need to read the readme to get going but it´s in my opinion worth while!

Gerson,

Definitely you should install and use DCG.  I do a lot of off-line campaign flying, it's really my favorite part of IL-2.  DCG is simply a ton of fun.  Make sure to read all of the readme stuff that comes with it.  There are many ways you can "tweak" the various aspects of the campaign to add to the experience.  I very highly recommend DCG.  :)

Give a try for your own, DCG is easy to use (read documentation) and you can decide yourself.

I would definitely recommend it. I personally prefer it over DGen. Make ABSOLUTELY sure to follow the readme. This is not a program you can just fudge and install and figure it out as you go ... most of the "problems" people have is that they don't pay attention and rush through it. Take your time and set it up properly. DCG has a ton of options. That is why it is better than DGen. If you don't set it up properly then you will not like the results ... you can do a lot of customizing of the game and your campaigns. Using DCG you can even create your own fairly easily.

Anyway, read all documentation thoroughly and set it up as you like and according to your computer capabilities. If you have a lower end machine, high end DCG settings will make your computer cry!

Give it a try, and if you have any questions, feel free to post here. I will help you out. It has been a while since I have really messed with it, but I will do my best. Whatever I can't answer can be answered at Paul's site on his forum.

I created an "Idiot's Guide" to DCG and I explain in detail how to set it up and what all the parameters mean. If you have the time I highly recomend reading THIS THREAD

It does not matter which. Just be forewarned, that unless Paul Lowengrin has added it himself to the official DCG, or unless you get a file from a modder who has added it, or unless you add it yourself, certain mod planes/vehicles/maps will not be available in DCG.

Search Lowengrin's forums. There are many people who have added a bunch of the UP2.01 content to DCG. I am sure the same will be done with UP3.0 when it comes out.

I am currently flying DCG 3.46 with HSFX 5.01 & with the following mods. distress call position & AI overheat & it has given me a renewed interest in IL2 off line campaigning.

It is an excellent programme

We fly DCG,s campaigns online in cooperative mode. For example:

http://patrulla-azul.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=51

And I can say that DCG is one of the best utilities you can find out there for IL-2. People who don't like, usually have not spent enough time tunning and learning about it. You can add whatever modded plane or map. There was a good thread on the old All Aircraft Arcade about this.

Recommended.

I am exclusively an offliner and have built some campaigns that you can find at M4t; I do not always fly dynamic campaigns, but when I do, I prefer DCG.
