Its really coming together.  Well done, Sir!  Its great to see the gliders getting some attention.  I've always liked the look of the DFS 230.  The BV-40 interceptor is another favourite.  Not so well known tho  :-[

I have a question regarding Gliders and Polygons.

I know the limits for Single Engine and Multi Engine aircraft but what would be the limit for Gliders?

My glider currently has 1,565 Polygons. Thats acceptable isn't it?

More than accepetable, in-fact it could even be several thousand Poly's more.

I'm not 100% sure, but if it's visible on the D0 external model, then it's best to make it part of the main map. You'll be able to mirror the map for the wheels and those little purple struts, and this will save some space.

Great work, BTW - will be an excellent addition :)

Cheers Brandenburger.  I'd probably follow the Me163 model as a guide for jettisonable components.

Any updates?

Was looking forward to it.  One thing I always though about doing but couldn't figure out how to do was to have troops, not paratroops come out of a landed transport or glider.  In the original IL-2 beta, the Me-321 had paratroopers, but it was very unrealistic for that monstruosity to glide down and have its troopers parachute out... so Oleg decided to can that load.

A solution would be to have troopers like the ones that run out of trucks when you shoot them... but there would have to be the programming for a new weapon kind similar to paratroopers, but without parachutes.  Also, you would have to program them to not drop like bombs... that would not be cool in any scenario.  They would have to come out running when a glider stops after landing, or after a transport stops taxiing.

That would be really cool.  Another cool option would be for a truck or two to come out of a Me-323 or 321...  at first there would not need to be a nose door... but perhaps in the future with an updated model.

Especially the troops coming out of your glider, that would be cool.

Anyway, hope you are still working on these.

God work, Brandenburger. I guess any bits you are having trouble with can be done by other moddders; and credited accordingly.

cheers

I am still working on these, as i'm working on a few different versions of the Glider, it will take some time before release. Also other mods have taken up my time.

@UberDemon
I'm sure all of that can be coded. The truck coming out of the Me 321/3, could possibly be done in theory. Just need someone to figure out how to do it.  ;D

Sweet that you are still working these mods... yeah, I should try programming it on my own, but I am very lazy on Java...
