I did some looking into it a few months ago and the conclusion I came to was CH products or bust.
Haven't read a bad review of them yet.

Six years!! You're a lucky man, I know CH fan people who have to recognize the problems with Fighter stick are important, and had to buy a new one in few years because the signal fluttering and trim problems. Potentiometers have those problems.

I have a Saitek X-52Pro and Rudder Pedals form several years (I think 3 for peddals and 4-5 for Stick). No probs with any of them and the best precission from first day. Old X-52 version I will not reccomend, you can find it cheap but touch is not very good and is not so reliable, but Pro is quite good.

New X-65F is a very good Joy, but it's not recommended for Il-2, a squad mate had it and finally got thrustmaster Warthog. It's sensitiveness is her weak point for props.

S!

I've had the old X-52's since I got Il-2,(around 3-4 years, I think) and have had no problems yet.

As already mentioned, CH Product's flight gear is excellent. However, my only complaint is with the rudder pedals in that they are a little too narrow for my liking (I returned them and bought the Saitek pedals). I have a CH Products USB Pro Throttle in my simpit and it is fantastic.

You may want to look at Saitek's new Combat Rudder Pedals as they are really slick!

Hope this helps.   :)

i do not recommend saitek anymore, Both my saitek pro flight rudder and x52 have problems. if anything i'd go with CH. I even have a Yoke setup from saitek that within 5 months lost control of the x axis
