(UP VP 4.12.2m, 5.30).
Hello Steve, not sure why you have no answer but which install do you actually have? The above is very confusing, UP is a stand alone pack if memory serves for a 4.10 version of the game, VP is another separate mod pack but for 4.12, both of which will have been built using their respective game versions, you then mention 4.12.2, which is a stock game version and if installed with SAS ModAct 5.30 then we can safely say you have a mod activated version of 4.12.2, but which are you having issues with? Have you put all these together in one install?
I long ago deleted my UP install so cannot talk about that and to be honest I am no jet install expert anyway, far from it, I do have a 4.12.2 with ModAct 5.30 equipped with Jet Era components though so might be able to help there.
Unfortunately my VP mod pack was also deleted intentionally in a clear out of my hard drive, however, I did have the jet component made by Istvan for his VP mod pack as part of that, the Jet Era version for that,
if memory serves, could be activated by a separate exe using the SAS selector so I think you could load either the original VP Mod Pack
OR the Jet Era version of it, one or the other, so the jet mods would need to be installed in the jet based segment of the pack. So, why does that matter, you will ask? Again, if memory serves you could not launch the jets in the standard VP mod pack, they had to be installed correctly in the jet version itself otherwise things might not work as intended.
To make your own version of the game with the Jet Era pack you will have first to have a stock 4.12.2 with ModAct 5.30 added, with that combination working successfully the Jet Era components can then be added into it enabling you to add the various jet mods available, however, first you need to have the Jet Era parts installed correctly along with any dependencies; separate weapons, sound packs, classfiles and so on, before you add any aircraft other than what comes with Jet Era.
It is a struggle, I think I ripped out most of my hair trying years ago to add it yet I mainly fly WWII.
I just like to test things work though so persevered.
Where are we with this? I think you had a problem posted at M4T, if it was you that was something missing and easy to sort once we knew where to look.
Without a clear understanding of exactly what you are using I am sorry to say no one will be able to help sort out the problem with you, we honestly would love to get you flying, with the correct information if I cannot someone here might be able to.
Take care and be safe.
Wishing you all the very best, Pete.
