loads to 40% and then quits.

40% ?? That's the first time I see this error. Are you sure you are running the correct version of IL-2? To have this pack working, you MUST use IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 version 4.10.1 with SAS ModAct 3.06 OR UP 3.0 RC4 + Dark Blue World 1.71. If you don't have one of these two installs,IL-2 1956 will never work for you. Don't hesitate to ask for help if you don't know how to install one of these modpacks. And the next time you have a problem, please tell us wich version of the game you are running. BTW, welcome to the SAS!  ;D

Reverted back to 4.101m and it works fine now.

If you read the pdf that's provided in the ModAct 4 download the Hot keys mod is called engine mod in the jsgme, if you load that up you will probably be able to get jet war 1.2 to work in 4.11.1, but they may not be compatible with 4.11.1 yet.  I have not tried to install it so I could not tell you for certain.

It does work with 4.11.1m but I will be releasing an update for JetWar this weekend which will include some minor fixes and add bomb fuses from 4.11.1m

 There is more to it than just the #SAS_EngineMod_Beta, you need the JetWar SFS files, the JetWar Content Pack, uncomment the JetWar Pack in the .RC File, and then add the relevant lines from JetWar Pack to air.ini. So any one trying this, make sure you have every thing wired tight or youll be posting "I get bla bla bla % CTD" Believe or else! ;)

I usually have to make certain the Cranial Rectimitus is not engaged before I start an endeavor like this one, but I'm sure I'll figure it out when I get ready to give it a try, RTFM usually does the trick... heheheheeee

Confirmed. This is exactly what you have to do to to make jets work in vanilla 4.11.1 + modact 4. i.e. : Follow instructions of jet war 1.2 installation at the relevant post & then activate in jsgme the sas_engine mod & also sas_mission pro combo. that's it.
