                            // @ sfs MOUNT SAS_SFS/sasamt_jetwar_02.sfs
enough to clear the // and everything works. yet

Glad the problem is fixed. // means don't include or don't show in programming languages.

Oh, and quick question, is spool up and spool down simulated? I don't feel it...

Well it would be difficult to feel it as this is a simulator (and in real life, you don't really 'feel' engine spooling up or down, just the surge of power), but jet engine 'spooling' is simulated in the default game. The engine spooling times for these aircraft have been tested and are close to real life values.

Just a heads ups, managed to solve the cockpit damage bugs in the F-86s (and enable a damage texture that wasn't being used) and I've fixed the compass bugs (so now the bearing needle will turn with the compass).

Good to hear that. By the way, are you planing some improvement on radar ranging gunsight management, at least A-1B/C(M) (F-86A/E) and A-4 (F-86F) sights for Sabres, in the future? The current one requires padlock to be actually useful, otherwise it simply locks to anything that is colsest to you, even if it's your wingman behind you. That's neither helpful nor realistic. Also the range of those sights is way too short - it seems to be the same as for P-51D and it's too low for typical engagements at 10000m. I heard about >3km kills with A-4 sight. Though if only it was made to lock on the target closest to the center of the screen (and maybe to lock the lock, so it doesn't change to its wingman, see link) instead of closest in distance, it already would be much better to use.

I found some research made by other user about the A-1 sight usage in a thread about old CY6 RR sights mod for PeterD's Sabres: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,3406.msg34217.html#msg34217

It was considered but it would require an extensive re-write of the code to achieve it. Currently it does work without padlock but it detects enemy aircraft within a certain radius with no respect to direction. Anyway there will be no update to it unless someone wish to rewrite the code (currently beyond my skill and my time)

I doubt there were +3km kills with a radar-ranging site. The record kill with a sniper rifle (so single shot, high velocity bullet and the gun is stationary) is 2.85km. So I severely doubt that an aircraft travelling at high subsonic/transonic speed hurling through the air would be able to destroy another aircraft hurling through the air at a 3km range. Not only that, even if a bullet happened to hit it would have lost a fair amount of its potential energy by that stage and would be unlikely to do much damage.

Ok, thanks for answer. I was pretty sure I saw such mod (or rather a mod for a mod) changing target selection method from "shortest distance" to "closest to the center" back on AAS looong time ago. Wasn't sth like this made by Storbror actually? Whatever, I can't find it now. The base code for RR sights was written from scratch by Twister AFAIK.

As for range, I heard that in "Dogfighters" IIRC, not a reliable source of info indeed. Though I'm almost certain that the effective range of gunsight and balistic computer was a bit higher.

By the way, looking at some F-86 images I found these two:

It turns out that F-86F (or at least some of them) had a rearview mirror mounted on canopy. I guess don't need to tell anyone how helpful is the rear-view mirror for fighter pilot

The only mod for radar ranging sites was by Twister and was initially adapted to the Sabres by Checkyersix. This code has been in jetwar since the first version and if you read the readme/credits you would know that. I don't recall Storebror making any changes to this code but i'll ask him.

I won't be adding a mirror, but if some new modder wants to have a crack,  be my guest.

Mati, I checked with Storebror. He never made a radar ranging mod. The one in JetWar is the most up to date version of the original mod by Twister.

As for the radar-ranging site improving the 'effective range' of the 50cals, I don't think so. Radar doesn't alter the laws of physics. It just allows for more accurate aiming at greater ranges. The 50 cal bullet will still be less effective/ineffective at ranges above 2kms regardless of the use of the site.
