Ok, thanks for answer. I was pretty sure I saw such mod (or rather a mod for a mod) changing target selection method from "shortest distance" to "closest to the center" back on AAS looong time ago. Wasn't sth like this made by Storbror actually? Whatever, I can't find it now. The base code for RR sights was written from scratch by Twister AFAIK.
As for range, I heard that in "Dogfighters" IIRC, not a reliable source of info indeed. Though I'm almost certain that the effective range of gunsight and balistic computer was a bit higher.
By the way, looking at some F-86 images I found these two:
Shots on last page..
It turns out that F-86F (or at least some of them) had a rearview mirror mounted on canopy. I guess don't need to tell anyone how helpful is the rear-view mirror for fighter pilot
All F-86 variants except the prototype have the mirror, on some videos you see them mounted off (new videos).
This was my main concern from the beginning with that cockpit, also pm'd a buddy at Histo for that matter.
The F-80C mirror, mounted offset the canopy frame and maybe a tad edited, would be optimal.
I can provide pictures for every F-86 variant (almost) and also detailed pictures and a video showing the mirror from a new video of 2010 IIRC.
Only thing I cannot is model 3D or afford to learn these days since my RL is suckingly busy.
To conclude, you are right, no other plane of that era has a more trademark mirror.
Then again, the front section of the cockpit is not 100% correct as well, the front bow has a different shape in RL on all shots.
Cheers
Tom
