Okay, I do look foolish.  I applied the hotfix, added a couple of new planes, and then retried my 4.12.2.SAS Jetwar version of the game and it all works!  The FJ-3M is so good I just shot down 3 AI MiG-19s although I missed with both missles--had to use the guns. 

Wow! Am I a happy camper.  I love all of you wonderful modders and envy your talents.

A couple of possible tweaks to this wonderful package (That's what she said)

Perhaps these are already known issues, but just in case:

F-86A-5 "G"-meter is OK, All other F-86 versions and the FJ Fury indicate zero G when at rest on the ground.  Sort of gives you that old floating feeling. 

One more thing:  The pylons should drop with the tanks on the 120 gallon tank for the F-86, thus leaving no pylon remaining on the airplane after dropping tanks.  It was designed that way so you would have a "clean" airplane after getting rid of your tanks.  See picture below of F-86 maintenance from Korea; you can see the tank/pylon combo sitting on the ground in front of the plane.

Well, they could also show relative Gs (i.e. relative to 1G).

I'm at my wit's end. I tried everything I can't get the Jets 1.33 to work. As soon as I reach 20% ..CTD!!!!
For some reason it does not like the entry in the air.ini file. As soon as I remove the contents of the jets IL-2 works with no issues.

Here is my installation procedure

1-Clean copy of IL-2 1946 patched to 4.12.2m
2-Installed SAS Modact 5.3   https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=37662.0
3-Installed SAS AI Flyables pack 5.3
4-Installed SAS JSGME Modact 5.3
5-Installed SAS JGSME Modact 5.3 Hotfix 001
6-Installed SAS Engine Mod 2.7 for 4.12.2 and Modact 5.3 https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,37774.0.html
7-Installed Buttons 10.5

At this stage everything works fine with JGSME mods activated.


I come to install IL-2 1956 Jet Era V 1.33

Following this
Installation for 4.12.2m ONLY:
1) Make sure you are running ModAct 5.3 on Il-2 4.12.2m
2) Make sure you meet the game requirements listed above
3) Extract content to your Il-2 directory
4) Then please copy the SFS archives from SAS_SFS to SFS_AUTO folder. By doing this, there is no need to touch the RC file
5) Add the latest Hotfix (if any)
6) Add the aircraft lines below NB: If you are new to modding, please read the following guides:

7) If you wish to add the static aircraft, please use the stationary and technics entries AFTER backing up your .inis
Run Il-2 with SAS ModAct and enjoy

I download the following:

Core Package: Jetwar_13_ContentPackage.7z (129mb approx)
Version 1.33 Hotfix: Jetwar_v133_Hotfix.7z (151kb approx)

1- I then install the following under \Path to IL-2\#SAS\000_1956_Core_v13 with Hotfix
2- Edit air.ini under \Path to IL-2\#SAS\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects  and add the planes

A-1H_Tanker     air.A1H_Tanker 1               NOINFO  usa01 DESERT
F-86A5          air.F_86A5 1                                    usa01 SUMMER
F-86D40           air.F_86D40                               NOINFO  usa01 SUMMER
etc ........

4- Edit plane.properties under \Path to IL-2\#SAS\STD\i18n and add

etc...

5- Edit weapons.properties  \Path to IL-2\#SAS\STD\i18n and add

I was able to figure out the error log log.lst

It keeps on pointing to missing stuff, classes under \IL-2path\#SAS\com\maddox\il2\objects

There is only 1 file there, catapults.ini. Are there supposed to be more?

The SAS Engine mod v2.7 has only that file there.

catapults.ini may be in \IL-2path\#SAS\!SAS_Engine_Mod\com\maddox\il2\object
there isn't the place classfiles set.
only catapults.ini, as is.

classfiles need to be set in \IL-2path\#SAS\!SAS_Engine_Mod\

I extracted the files incorrectly for the Engine mod under #SAS. All is good now !!!!!!
