I think they need help badly - this is a cry for help and a try to gain sales through others people work same as the mods of FB 1946.

Probably. If sales of Cliffs Of Dover weren't as good as they expected, maybe they do see the modding community as a way to "save" that sim. To each his own. I'm glad they lifted the whole "ban and erase from history if you say the word mod" attitude. A little late though?

It is nice to see but I agree with Friction, I think that this is perhaps too little too late. I never understood why you would ostracise the Mod community in the first place; treating those who used the "M" word like petty criminals/pirates/theives. And it is hard not to be cynical in light of the Clod debacle that suddenly the doors are flung open to those who just might be able to offer some much needed help and support...

Is this not just about mods for "original " IL-2? how is this to do with CloD? or did i not understand, i thought the stance on mods for CloD was that they are open to mods from the start, when they release the tools.....after they get it patched and running...which i guess is the priority seeing as it has a few issues.

Anyway IL-2 46 mod discussion at 1C could be entertaining to watch at least!

In my opinion this go both way, The modders did not seem to be interesting in clod from the start up either. I like the 3D and simulation in Clod, But without Modders it is just to limited. I hope one day Clod and modders come together and make that damn thing playable

:-[ Perestroika on 1C forum? , ze Stalinist restrictions from some Moderators and Members will keep me from posting there about this topic or simply any other topic, even about the diet of my cat. For masochists it's an sort of invitation.
Not for sweets and not in this life. And yes I have 3 legal copies of IL-2 1946, but I'm well educated, Mummy said, don't talk with strangers about Mods.
It needs a lil more than nice words from them, I'm a pessimist.
This has nothing to the with Clod or whatever they call it, I haven't bought it yet, so I hold my mouth shut.

Not that the modders aren't interested, CloD is an unfinished game and runs like crap on 90% of most players systems. Why waste time modding it? Maybe in a few years there will be renewed interest.

It runs fine for me and I also am running several mods with it already. I am very happy some others don't think like you guys and are going ahead and messing with the files. I love IL2 but after playing COD for some time now I am having trouble going back to it.
