F4F-3,F4F-4. and FM-2 propeller pitch control direction
« on: May 18, 2011, 06:47:00 PM »

Is there any way to reverse this?  Oleg seems to have gotten its position backwards with relation to propeller pitch.  ie: when the control is pulled all the way out, currently, RPMs are maxed; all the way in, and they are minimized.  It should be the opposite.

Control physical position: Lower left corner on front panel.

Link below is a picture from the F4F manual pages describing correct movement of the propeller pitch control "push in to increase RPM, pull out to decrease RPM":

http://books.google.com/books?id=lMZfLqGNm7MC&pg=PA5&lpg=PA5&dq=F4F+propeller+pitch+control&source=bl&ots=UAhrkdnx-z&sig=HUCeKM8SUVTzUKX30FaBbj4SkK0&hl=en&ei=b2LUTZjOEIqf-Qaqzp3NCg&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=3&ved=0CCcQ6AEwAg#v=onepage&q&f=false

The worst part, aside from being bonkers, is that when the control is all the way out (as it is most of the time currently), it hides the only working clock in the F4F, as the 24 hour clock front and center low is apparently non-functional.

This seems like a relatively simple fix for an official patch. Why not mention it to DT?
