Funny, I just watched that on there about a week ago. Some awesome (and I mean that in the literal, non-California sense) stuff there. There was a lot of bad stuff involved with nuclear testing that doesn't get mentioned in films like that, but I think the government kept much of it secret until fairly recently. Who knows how many people in the US and Canada ended up with cancer and other things from the radiation (let alone Pacific islanders  :-X). The explosions are sweet to watch though...

Well if we ever go to war, I am on Russias side:

The damn fireball alone is bigger than Paris itself!

I saw another video somewhere about the "Tsar Bomba", and I'm pretty sure I remember them saying it's explosive yield was actually limited to allow the Tu-95 that dropped it to get away! That is a killer bomb. Too bad some smart guys had to realize that a bunch of small MIRVs are way more efficient than giant bombs. Just not quite as impressive :P

Yes it was orignally 100Mt yield but havled to 50, for many reasons, even though it was still a quarter of the estimated strength of the krakatoa eruption.

Too bad we humans are inventors of weapons that (if used all in one moment) have enough destructive energy to destroy entire world four times, and nearly half of them could be launched by one person. :(
I hope in entire universe there is no such f***er who would have done it.

The Tsar Bomb was never intended to be used operational... don't worry. A single Tsar Bomb would slow the Aircraft so much that it could be intercepted very easy. It was a pure Propaganda Weapon. I am shure the russians would loose World War 3, but at wich cost... we would have billions of Deads on both sides...

Propaganda, well everything that comes out of the Soviet Union is that lol, it was intended for operational use eventually, it was an experiment and you are right, such a big bomb was too big for any aircraft of the day for it to be effective, and only a little time later, work shifted to ICBM's with accuracy of almost 500m.
And so rather than destroying half of France, they could just melt Paris.
