WIP map of Belarus for the feedback
« on: June 07, 2011, 04:55:52 AM »

Please help me with localization of airfields  and bridges. Collaboration of those knowing   the area in times of war, who can show the location of airfields , which need to be added / removed will be appreciated greatly. Same with the bridge: it can be supposed that  the bridges  were not at every country roads  crossing the rivers? Please, do not pay attention to unflattened  airfield area yet. But every piece of  info will be appreciated ,  and the comments too.
PS: you can fly on the map  at 409 and in 4101, too, tested with HSFX.

Great! I have been waiting for someone to do a map of this area for some time. Have you tried the website: http://wwii-photos-maps.com/ ? Mandrill used it for his Army Group Centre map and says it was a big help.

Yes, of course, but not earlier than the summer version will be completed.

It looks VERY promising, Uzin! A very important piece of land historically speaking as well.

I noticed one thing, something I've seen on some other maps, inclusing your Baltic map and Nounettes Mid East map: that there is a kind of "sea" horizon. You look around and you see something that has the colour of water, but disappears as you fly close and at the same time new "sea" appears where there now is land. Give you the sensation of flying on an immense island.  :-\

What is this? I guess there is a switch I have forgotten here?

Poltava - are you flying on 'Excellent' mode? If so, it's a case of an incorrectly coloured map_f

There is very simplified map_F on EastBalt, perhaps it might be improved later.
As it concerns Belarus, there is essentially empty map_F so far, as it is very, very WIP, serving only for correction and possible fulfillment of airfields locations. As canonuk says, try perfect landscape mode in hardware settings of Il2 game.

Oh, Uzin! Thanks for this map of a part east Poland.
I found Polish pre-war airfields map. It might be helpfull.

Filled points are hidden, field airfields and all Polish airfields war made with grass. Sometimes there was a few of hangars.
